Join us for the next "Vicky Phelan Campaign and Portrait Event" in University of Limerick on Thursday 23rd November at 1pm.

The “Vicky Phelan Campaign & Portrait Tour” is a campaign for “Awareness & Change”. This is what Vicky wanted her legacy to be and for the women of Ireland to carry her Baton, to stand up for themselves and fight for change. Following the Cervical Check Scandal, Vicky fought so hard for change in the health services and how women and their families were treated by the State in the aftermath of the scandal.

Through the Portrait, Vickys life story is told, from her childhood through to her adult life, telling of her major traumatic events prior to her Cancer Diagnosis and her uncovering of the CervicalCheck Scandal in 2018 and beyond. An emotionally charged experience, that recounts the incredible bravery of Vicky in her enormous fight against the legal might of the state in order to protect the lives of the Women of Ireland.

and that's what was clearly demonstrated at one of the most special "Vicky Phelan Campaign and Portrait Event" held last weekend Mooncoin.

Like a homecoming of sorts, this event was always going to be extra special. We celebrated Vicky, we celebrated her birthday and everything she has done for our country, for the lives she has saved and for the improvements she has made in health care, for advocating on our behalf for better screening services, for creating an awareness for cancer and health issues that affect women & men, for her fight against the legal might of the State, for her bravery in refusing to be silenced, for her time that she gave to help others and for the Change she has made in ours and our children's lives.

We are inspired by Vicky to continue her campain for "Awareness and Change" and to bring her story to everyone all over our country.

Last weekend we celebrated another beautiful "Vicky Phelan Campaign and Portrait Event" in Gort, Co Galway.

Hosted by @gortcancersupport and @lady_gregory_hotel we continued Vickys legacy for "Change & Awareness" and experienced yet again, incredible love and admiration for Dearest Vicky ❤️ from everyone that attended.

Special thank you Cara Brady, Mary Nolan, David Kelly and all the wonderful volunteers at @gortcancersupport, your work is truly inspirational.

The "Vicky Phelan Campaign and Portrait Tour" came to Drogheda this weekend and we cannot express how special this event was.

Vickys Family & friends were joined by @naomilinehan, author of Vickys memoir #overcoming and Naomi gave the audience the most beautiful depiction of Vickys story that we will never forget ❤️

Vickys friend @john__wall__ spoke of their friendship and of Vickys strength & courage to move mountains in order to protect the future for women of Ireland and her campaign for Cervical Screeming, HPV vaccination and better treatment for ALL patients, men and women ❤️

Life long Family friend of Vickys, David Brennan recounted Vickys life story, from her childhood right through to her cancer diagnosis, Vickys unearthing of #cervicalcheckscandal, telling of her brave and selfless act of not signing the Non Disclosure Agreement in order to protect the Women of Ireland and her fight to stay alive for her family. All of Vickys story, captured within her Triptych Portrait left the audience in awe of our national hero #vickyphelan ❤️

The Panel Discussion at this event Moderated by the wonderful @claremckennapresents and she was joined by @lorraine_walsh_callaghan co-founder of 221+ Group and @cevaweva 221+ Group. Both ladies courageously told the audience of their own personal fight with Cancer, their struggle with the health services and how they are creating change and awareness for better health care in Ireland. ❤️

Vickys trusted Solicitor and friend @cianocarroll_solicitors gave a detailed insight as to how women and their families are still being treated by the legal might of our so called "State" . We need to hear this in order to demand change, as difficult as it is, can you image a women being told by the "State" legal team thats its her child, whom has mild learning difficulty that is causing her distress and not the fact that she has Cervical Cancer that could have been prevented. What kind of treatment is this for a women that is dying of cancer to subjected to..We demand a better Ireland for our Women and Girls. ❤️

Vicky Phelan Campaign and Portrait Tour comes to @barbicancentre Drogheda this Friday 26th May hosted by @g.k.cancersupport

Family and Friends of Vicky Phelan are joining people all over the country in continuing Vickys campaign for Awareness and Change.

You will hear Vicky's life story and hear how she courageously took on the might of the State in order to stand up for the Women of Ireland and in doing so, she unearthed one of the greatest mediacal scandals in the history of the State.

Vicky then dedicated her limited time and channeled all her energy to improve health care for women in Ireland and create an awareness campaign that continues to saves lives.

As part of the weekend’s programme, the portrait will be open for a Walk-In Event on Saturday 27th from 10.30am to 12.30pm and David Brennan will present Vicky's story contained within her Portrait from 11am.

Please come along to the the @barbicancentre on Friday and Saturday for an experience you won't forget.

A beautiful and memorable "Vicky Phelan Campaign and Portrait Event" held yesterday in Kilmacow to celebrate Bernadette O'Hanlons "Love and Gratitude" to all her Family and friends.

Vicky and Bernie, two inspiring warriors, battled cancer together and helped eachother through their cancer journey. Bringing Vickys Campaign and Portrait Event to Bernie was a fitting tribute to both of these inspirational and beautiful women.

This was no ordinary event. Bernie @i_am_cancer_free tried on several occasions to attend a few events but due to hospital visits and ill health, couldn't attend at the time, so, we decided a few weeks ago to bring Vicky to Bernie. And what was Initially going to happen at her home, expanded rapidly and changed venue to the Kilmacow Parish Hall and then turned into one of the most beautiful days we have all experienced.

The amazing @mountsionchoir @colette_k1 and @john__wall__ pulled out the stops and together with Bernie her daughter @aprilbrophy her entire Family, Vickys Parents Gaby & John, Vickys Sister @lynzik62 & her boy Tyler and around 120+ friends packed into the Kilmacow Hall for what was to become the most amazing day of song, love and inspiration ❤️.

Vicky Phelan Campaign and Portrait Tour comes to MTU Tralee on April 21st & 22nd hosted by Haven Recovery Centre.

The theme of the tour is creating " Awareness & Change" which is the essence of Vicky's legacy and what she fought so hard for.

As part of the weekend’s programme, portrait will be open for public viewing at the Sólás Centre, MTU Kerry North Campus, Tralee on Saturday, April 22 from 10.30 am -1pm.

The Vicky Phelan Campaign & Portrait Tour is to continue Vicky's legacy and educate people about cervical cancer. This is the first time the portrait has been exhibited in Kerry and has been very kindly supported by MTU Kerry and Tralee Chamber Alliance.

So please come along to the the Sólás Centre, MTU Kerry North Campus on Saturday, April 22 from 10.30am to view this stunning piece for yourself.

We are all heartbroken at the loss of our Dear Friend Vicky and we offer our heartfelt condolences to Vickys husband Jim, her daughter Amelia, son Darragh, her Mam Gaby, Dad John, her sister Lyndsey, Robbie & Fiona, Lee & Diane, Johnny & Siobhan and all her extended family and close friends especially Maria and Susan.

Vicky fought not only the bravest of battles to stay alive for her beautiful children, she also fought an enormous battle against the legal might of the State to protect the women of Ireland and fight for justice for those women and familys that suffered as a result of the Cervical Check Scandal. In exposing the wrongs of the State and the Health Service and for demanding widespread improvements in how WOMEN are treated in Ireland, Vicky has saved countless lives already.

Vickys legacy demands change in the Health Care System and Accountability for those that do wrong by patients. She has changed the Health Services for women, men, boys and girls throughout the country and for this, we are forever indebted to you Vicky.

RIP Lynsey Bennett 😢💔
Longford’s brave Cervical Check campaigner Lynsey Bennett has lost her battle to live.

Lyndsey, who was from Longford, was diagnosed with an invasive form of cervical cancer in 2017. She settled her High Court action over the alleged misinterpretation of her cervical smear slides in 2021.

In a statement outside the Four Courts at the time she said: “To my daughters Zoe and Hailee, I hope I have done enough to secure you both a future free of financial worries and that even with me not here to guide you, you can both pursue your dreams."

She cried as she said: “And always remember, Mammy loves you. X

We're so excited to bring The Vicky Phelan Portrai

We're so excited to bring The Vicky Phelan Portrait to University College Dublin this week to celebrate World Cancer Research Day 2022 and there's no better way to celebrate this world event than to do so by bringing the story of one woman's Courage, Resilience, Determination and Love to everyone, so as a real difference can be made and lives can be saved. @vickyphelanofficial continues to inspire and encourage woman and men across Ireland and we have great privilege in bringing Vickys story to students, staff and visitors at UCD this week.

UCD Precision Oncology Ireland will host this event over two days. Wednesday 21st September The Vicky Phelan Portrait will be displayed at Moore Auditorium, UCD O'Brien Centre for Science from 4pm to 6pm and on Thursday 22nd from 3pm at the Charles Institute, Precision Oncology will open its doors for an "Open House" of cancer research, where you will hear about the latest cutting-edge treatments and meet researchers to ask all those burning questions.

After almost a month on display, The Vicky Phelan Portrait has left Carlow last week and what an amazing experience it was!

Organised by @itcarlow , @eist_carlow_cancer_support and Carlow Chamber of Commerce, the first display event was held at the amazing @visual_carlow , where people got the chance to experience the amazing and inspirational story of @vickyphelanofficial symbolised within the Portrait by Artist @vincentdevineart

Following this opening Display event, The Vicky Phelan Portrait visited MSD Pharmaceutical, where it stayed on display for all employees there to see it and also experience being brought through all its detail by Vincent on its last day at MSD.
How significant was this event at MSD? Well, MSD Pharmaceutical is where the wonder drug "Pembrolizumab" is manufactured. This is the drug that Vicky Phelan fought so hard to gain access to, that has extended her life and thanks to Vicky, has been made available to many more people fighting cancer in Ireland.

Eist Cancer Support Centre hosted the Portrait for a further two weeks at their newly launched premises where service users of this wonderful centre and the public came to experience The Portrait in what was the most beautiful event held over the final two days there. Even when Vicky herself can't be present, she's inspiring and empowering people to take better care of their own health and help save lives.

We are grateful to everyone that helped bring The Vicky Phelan Portrait to Carlow and thank you to everyone that donated towards Eist Cancer Support Centre. Thank you to the wonderful people at Eist that offer this much needed support to Cancer patients in Carlow, your work is truly inspirational ❤️👏
